BRIAN J. BERGMAN was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2005. Mr. Bergman is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and all state courts in California.
Mr. Bergman received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California Law School in 2005. While in law school, Mr. Bergman was the Chair of the USC Hale Moot Court Honors Program and was also an extern for Central District Federal Magistrate Stephen Hillman.
Mr. Bergman's area of practice focuses primarily on environmental litigation and regulatory compliance matters. He has experience in a broad range of environmental litigation, including matters under CERCLA, CWA, CAA, CEQA, and state nuisance and trespass actions. Mr. Bergman has represented clients on matters before the South Coast Air Quality Management District, the California Air Resources Board, the Regional Water Quality Control Boards, the State Water Resources Control Board, the Department of Toxic Substances Control, and the California Department of Fish and Game. He also has litigation experience in wage and hour class actions, defamation, privacy tort, and personal injury actions.
Mr. Bergman is the co-author of the article "Defeating Class Certification," Los Angeles Daily Journal, Vol. 119 No. 246 (December 22, 2006). He is a member of numerous Bar Associations.
